here i am! home from our roadtrip after 8 and some hours on the road today! but it was SO worth it to be on the wide open road, without any plans and any specific destinations. i love traveling. i'll share some of our stops this week :)

i wore this getup on the way to visit my best friend lacey in jacksonville. i knew we were going to be going out when we got there at night, so it was comfortable and i didn't have to change to go out! about 8 million people told me i look/dress like taylor swift, which is my new norm. and i saw a picture of her at the beach in a magazine today, and i have to say... it is true. even though i don't mean to :) okay i am off to sleeeeep! night!

sometimes you just have to try something new, and for me it was white jeans. i keep seeing them everywhere, and while i am not one to "jump on the bandwagon" of new trends, i wanted to get my feet wet :) i'm still a little iffy on them, but i think styled right i can make them feel me! plus, what gal in florida doesn't own or wear white denim!?

i have a three day weekend starting .. NOW.. and am off on a roadtrip to savannah. have a lovely holiday weekend!

southwestern casual.

hello hello! here's a very casual, very real post from a really tired version of myself :) it's been one of those work weeks that makes me a grumpy human being, but sometimes overworking is a whole new fun, too. i wore this to work today, we went in at 6AM to get ready for rollout tomorrow morning! 

i snagged this chambray shirt on sale this week and i'm not going to lie, i wore it maybe three times already. for some reason, southwestern/ bohemian style has been catching my attention this spring. or maybe these boots just inspired me. i am kind of in love with them. they remind me of this painting my aunt elisa worked on for an entire summer when i was younger and living with her. they also remind me of her decorating style. maybe i just miss her (i miss you auntie e!) okay... have a great monday! i love you guys.

adventure with me.

i just got back from a run with claude and now im about to cook some dinner! before that i took some time to read the great gatsby. i'm on page 50-something, and since i'm re-reading it i kind of remember it. is anyone else reading before seeing the movie? it's so great to check out for a few minutes, even if it's only 30, and take some time to read. sometimes i forget how important time like that is. 

my good friend tatiana from furor sent over this tee, and i can't wait to wear it all summer. i feel like it's going to be a causal summer for me. lately i feel annoyed with the high maintenance side of myself. i was once a "throw on cutoffs and a little kids vintage baseball tee" kind of gal, and i think this summer i'm going to regress (just a little bit). :) have a happy night!

summer style.

it's officially summer in florida when it starts to rain every afternoon. yuck! but i guess it is good for pictures, because the lighting looks like this-- perfectly grey, so even light floral shorts show up in the photos :) plus, i get a little bit of joy out of grey days. what can i say, i'm a little emo. 

i wore this for a walk around our neighborhood. we did get rained on, if you were wondering. i snagged these vintage shorts this week, and am adding them to my collection. i hemmed them to my perfect length too, which is the best part about altering clothes. oh, and have i mentioned i'm a mint addict?

i'm off to work bright and early tomorrow (as usual).. i am looking forward to some upcoming mini-vacations. it's been a tough month. plus, we had to put my parents doggie zelmo to sleep today. r.i.p. zelmo. he's been my pet since the 4th grade :( but you know what they say? for every down, there's an up.

sunday morning flowers.

happy mothers day, mothers! i spent this lovely day having brunch with my family and dinner with matts to celebrate the women who created us. ❤ lots of flowers, lots of gifts from j.crew, lots of bagels, treats and sushi!

in honor of the day i dressed comfortably and full of florals! its so easy to throw a cute blazer over jean shorts to polish off a look. i love longer blazers with shorts, and always size up so they're a bit oversized. this one is from the lovely lulu's! i hope you all had a great day! xo
