that funny feeling.

hello ♥

i found this skirt last week and instantly went googley eyed. one of my favorite (very random) colors is this deep orange/ brown/ red, and to see it in a sea of velvet is just incredible. i am usually not a huge fan of maxi skirts, but this one is form fitting and it makes me feel like a princess.

took these while hanging out with my matt, who is now somewhere in nicaragua surfing 10 foot waves. yup, i'm solo for the next few days. in my world this means: living solely off cereal and ice cream, sewing until 2 AM, skipping nightly flossing, keeping 50's and 60's pandora on repeat and living really spontaneously. what can i say, i guess matt is the normal one of the two of us :) Good thing i have work most days to keep me sane! hurricane isaac at the 11th street diner.

as luck would have it, the day i planned my final photo shoot for school ended up being the day hurricane isaac was the craziest. luckily my model was my friend leah, and my photog was (of course) matt, so we made the trek to the 11th street diner to shoot!

i have to say, the whole experience was really inspiring! i wanted to add a bit of edge to my typical feminine style. the diner was such a beautiful backdrop, and the lighting peeking in through the raindrops outside created such a lovely effect. + leah was amazing! i guess my outfit kind of matches those in the shoot-- a little dark :)

when there's a hurricane...

i have a love for dreary days, so i threw on my coziest sweater (that i've been saving all summer for a day like this), and matt and i did fun things on the first day of hurricane isaac. we went thrifting, sifted through old records and then grabbed ice cream with my brother. luckily it wasn't really raining yet, it was overcast and the sky was beautifully grey.

i hope all of you on the east coast survived unscathed ❤
