twinkle twinkle little star.

here's a peek at my last day in new york. there was surfing, brunch foods & of course my aunts 50th birthday celebration. it was amazing being all together again as a family. i have 13 cousins, so you can only imagine.. :) rowdy, dysfunctional, silly new yorkers all in one room. AND my cute 83-year-old grandma came too, all dressed up in a baby blue suit.

i wore these forever 21 skinnies to the party with a black blouse, and remixed the pants for a more cozy daytime look the following day. i really love the color, but the fabric is so thin and i'm nervous they may rip at the seams one day. haha. i'd probably laugh (my laugh is loud and obnoxious) and be extremely embarrassed at the same time. i am also mildy addicted to really unique pieces of clothing. i know that how you put an outfit together matters, but i love having one special piece in every outfit. this sweater is it ;)

just a few snapshots of a day spent with my guy in the place i want to live the most, long beach NY. boardwalk + diner + the leaves changing colors. (!!!)

i got this french hen sweater from work ( also got the socks to match) and wore it for a few days straight. it is just so cozy and provides the perfect amount of warmth for an 'almost fall' day. i decided that jewel toned colors are my new favorite. especially cobalt blue and mustard yellow. i'm back in miami and am having major new york withdrawals. i am sorry world, but there is just nowhere as good as nyc (in my opinion). i am really trying to enjoy miami and enjoy the place that i'm at right now[in life], but i will dream of living in nyc til' the day i am back. i just keep one thing in mind.. "the world is on my side :) " i know one day all of my dreams will come true.

nyc days are the best days.

in the scheme of it all, i think all of my best days were spent in nyc. especially when it is sweater weather! had one of those days where i squeezed all of my favorite things in--- thrifting, coffee, shopping and wandering the streets with bonnie and gaby. bonnie brought us to this cute little spot called saturdays where you can sip delicious iced coffee in a hidden back garden. the weather was perfect and i sort of wanted the day to last forever!

i found this cute skinny polka dotted tie the day before my trip and had to bring it along. i've been craving this deep emerald green in my fall wardrobe! still obsessed with these boots, and will continue to gorilla glue them until they really fall apart! :)

p.s. squinty eyed stranger is my brother matt. he is a goof.

blush tones.

happy friday :) i've been counting down til' this one, because i am in nyc! i packed all my favorite sweaters that i've been saving up, and will be surrounded by loved ones for days straight. i feel so lucky.

here's one of my favorite outfits lately. Since it is still hot in florida i feel a little out of place in fall colors, so pastels it is! i adore pale orange and pale pink together, and had no idea until i held this blouse next to this skirt. my mom took these photos before we spent the day at the mall :) she doesn't treat herself to anything too often, so we went to j.crew and i helped her pick out a lot of cute things! she is in NY with me and will be wearing some of them, how fun!

who feels like wearing red plaid? apparently matt and i do :) we got sushi with his mom and accidentally matched. d'aww.

today is my portfolio review at school, which means this is the end of school. i feel really weird that school is ending (even though i am 25 and this is my second degree)... it went by so quickly. and i honestly had no idea what i would be doing after school was out, but i am realizing not much will change. i will still run my store and still work at j.crew.

i am also jetting off to NYC on friday morning! :) it is my aunt's 50th birthday party and well, she means the world to me so i couldn't miss it. i can't wait to feel temperatures in the 60's at night and find treasures for the store. more updates soon. have a whimsical day ❤

just plain simple ❤

this weekend we did one of our favorite things ever, we got in the car and drove. matt surfed, i thrifted, and we were both just happy. there's nothing better than being on the road, singing out loud to tunes and finding reeeeeally weird thrift stores in small towns that bring the prettiest vintage in the world into my arms.

i wore this comfortable outfit for the car ride. every gal should own a comfy striped tee! i found THESE boots this week, and get used to them because they're my new favorites. i love how fitted they are around the ankle! i don't know what it is, but all i've been wanting to wear lately is brown, deep red and black. weird! anyone else craving dark colors?
