brunch at the 11th street diner.

we had the best day today getting brunch at our favorite local spot, the 11th street diner. being inside makes you feel transplanted back to the 1950's. it's been sunny and 70 degrees outside, so we walked off this meal and explored the beach after brunch :)

i wore my favorite vintage floral shorts; i can't wait to wear them all summer long! i'm not a huge fan of shorts, but i have a soft spot for high-waisted ones.  i've been pairing these boots with everything. i love how they make a feminine look a bit more edgy!

have a happy monday! it's a "rollout" day at work( = alarm set for 4am), so all you j.crew fanatics make sure to stop in to see the new stuff! ♥

on busier weeks like this one, it's sometimes nice to stop and appreciate the little things. so here's my little things. 

♥ giving claude a hug because she got spayed. poor girl.

♥ my mom got me weenie dog plates from kate spade. best gift ever.

♥ matt and i visited my favorite spot to sit when i was in highschool near my parents old house. 

♥ we got to get dressed up for dinner. it felt fancy.

♥ macarons are always yummy. i had self control and only ate one :)

i'm just you, you're just me.

i kind of got over jack johnson after highschool, but i LOVE his newer song "people watching." the lyrics are so meaningful! 

"we're all as lonely as we wanted to be." the best line! lately i've really been trying to focus on keeping all of my thoughts positive. it makes such a change. don't you all prefer to be around happy people? i know I do. i love trying to be who i enjoy surrounding myself with, if that even makes sense.

i wore this for like 2 days straight. i snagged the skirt at urban outfitters, and ate up the gorgeous mint color. i've sold more than a few vintage skirts that look just like it, but honestly don't have the time to find them anymore :( it has been freezing here (by freezing i mean in the 50's) but for some reasons spring is in the air, and i am welcoming it with open arms :) happy day, happy night! xo

fancy schmancy.

i'm not too sure i've mentioned it before, but matt and i LOVE movies. we go every year to the miami film festivals, and try to watch a few movies per week. he works as a camera assistant in the industry so it goes hand-in-hand with his job and i just like to tag along! when we got invited to the premier of the women's international film and arts festival we couldn't say no!

we got allllll fancy! i'm not one to get really dressed up, but i tried. the film we saw was about angela davis, a political activist in the 1970's. i love documentaries, especially about the 60's and 70's, so i loved the film. i snagged my dress from forever 21 and adored how high the neckline is in front, but how low cut the back is. i felt so feminine :)

denim days.

i love dressing down sometimes, and pairing denim on denim always does the trick for me. i felt a little like lacey jones :) or sort of like kirsten dunst. do you guys ever google celebs style for inspiration? lately i find myself looking up alexa chung a lot (but who doesn't right?)

anyway, matt and i took claude for a little walk. she is so big now! we took these after work when the sun continues to shine past 7PM, which is amazing. our neighborhood is perfect for sunset walks. we are looking for a fun adventure this weekend, but florida isn't the most hoppin' state. hopefully we'll find something adventurous :) have a happy weekend!

spring fringe!

every year around march/april i impulsively cut bangs. usually by july i am over them and let them grow back out. i realized while we were planning our next merchandise moves at work that i LOVE change. i love moving, i love changing my look and most of all i love rotating my closet. it's sort of addicting. i think next i am going to go really blonde for the summer. lots of people fear changing things, but i kind of live for it.

i wore a version of this outfit last year, but i can't help but pair this sweet heart sweater with an even sweeter floral print. i thrifted this skirt last week and it was down to the floor. i like the refresh i gave it :) i'm off to bed now! g' night!!
