when florida gets cold...

tights with shorts & deer sweaters. YES. it is kind of sad that I can only pull these items out about 4 times per year, but on the rare occasion that florida does get cold, i go all out :) it actually got down to almost the 40's which totally caught me off guard, but i guess it is February which is technically winter. i love animal sweaters, and even though deer sweaters remind me of christmas, who says christmastime cannot be extended?

spotted feeeeet!

right near our house is a cute little dog park called the "bark park" that we take claude. she runs like a crazy woman and lets her ears flap in the wind, its adorable. we took these on the walk to the park! i never like to leave the house feeling not put together, so these cute polka dotted sneakers were perfect! i get to run with my gal but still look down at my feet and smile :) 

also... mustard yellow and blue are my two favorite colors ever to pair together. anyone else agree?

planting lilacs and buttercups.

phew! here i am, i'm alive :) i feel like i have been sort of disconnected from the internet lately, but it is only because i work all the time and when i am not working i don't like to sit in front of the computer (i would usually rather sleep hehehe). this week we received tons of new adorable things at work, so i have been dressing mannequins and re-merchandising .. AND having tons of fun during. the biggest difference between working at home full-time on my store and working somewhere is that i get to be surrounded by people, which feels incredible. i've met some of the best people. i don't know how i ever worked from home all by my lonesome!

i am also leaving on sunday to work a freelance styling job on a cruise ship for an entire week! it will be more work than fun, but i cannot wait for the change in scenery... and the feeling of a vacation even though it really isn't. i guess i'm rambling on, and mostly about work but you know what? i am EXCITED about my work. i am so so thankful for that every day. 2013 has been kind of weird to me so far, but the best thing i've learned is that if you love your work, you're a step ahead. i am done rambling on. here's a pink + red look because lately all i want to do is add red into every outfit. claude girl is growing up, and now she is 9 LBS. I am so very glad you are all here to constantly support me on my journey through this beautiful life :)

snow dots.

on my worst days, i just picture the feeling of walking down broadway on a chilly day with the warm sun on my face. it always makes me feel better. i spent most of this perfect snowwy day doing just that with some of my closest friends. it's a day i will cherish. i finally got to meet tieka and mara, i went to an event with lookbook.nu and met up with dani, and ended up at the BCBG afterparty at the Boom Boom Room.

... but most importantly, i was surrounded by a ton of people i absolutely adore. and all while wearing polka dots :)

my valentines day after-work date with matty looked a little bit like this :) we went to dinner at la locanda and i ate heart shaped ravioli! i had never seen ravioli in a heart shape before, so you can imagine my excitement. haha. 

i wore the most festive outfit ever, with absolutely no shame. i really like holidays, even if they're cheesy and all for hallmark. they give you a reason to step back and appreciate the good things :) i hope you all had a love-filled Vday!

L is for the way you look at me.

my bff michael and i had a fun little afternoon where we photographed eachother in the same exact valentines day outfit for the Lookbook.nu contest :) I know, we find silly ways to pass the time, but it was really fun. Another perk was that Matt came home from work in the middle of our mini photo shoot, and stepped into some photos with me! we never get any photos together, so here's a few in honor of the day of love. i have to say i feel very lucky to have found my special someone to share every single day with. he's the cheese to my macaroni.

long beach, long island

here's a little place i like to call home. i have some of my oldest memories here, and it was sad to visit after hurricane sandy and see all of the damage. my very lovely aunt/ inspiration lives here, so its always a destination on my NY trips. the house above is my dream house. i took a polaroid of it when i was 15 and carried it around for years because i truly believed one day i would live there. maybe i will, you never know ;) 

this sweater was a gift from a close friend, shareen of vintage mavens. she just relaunched her ebay shop to sell beautiful 50's, 60's and 70's pieces, and in honor of the launch i ended up with an incredible scottie sweater. she's the best. i think i could only get away with this look in NY, so i jumped at the opportunity. there's something lovely about wearing an outfit full of beautiful color. i'm going to try to wear vibrant colors more often.
