if you're a bird, i'm a bird too.

happy almost friday! it's 8 pm and i just ate a giant bowl (or 2) of cereal and i'm about to watch the office and fade away into dreamland. i worked for 11 hours today and i am BEAT. i love to work though, i am for sure a worker bee. 

i wore this for a little stroll in our neighborhood. sometimes it still feels surreal to me that ocean avenue is so close! i am still holding on to winter colors for as long as i can, even though all of the mall has spring clothes now. it's tough to keep up with the "fashion seasons" sometimes, isn't it? they're always so imaginary and far advanced. LOL. not like miami has any season except for one, anyway. i snatched these faux leather shorts at the bib and tuck clothing swap last week, and they're perfect. matt says fake leather [and real leather] are weird, but what do boys know anyway? :) k goodnight ya'llll! my alarm is set for 4am, and i am ready to beautify the aventura mall j.crew! hehe

a kiss to build a dream on.

on my way to work at usually ungodly hours i always listen to sirius 50's station, and ever since i heard louis armstrong this morning i have had "a kiss to build a dream on" stuck in my head. on mornings when i am so tired that my brain feels a step behind the rest of the world, i am always thankful for watching the sunrise to smoooooth jazz!

i wore this to hangout for a gals brunch! i really love high waisted shorts -- especially floral ones--- but i hate short shorts, so these were pushing it for me :) they are the shortest shorts i own, i think. i paired em' with a buttoned up shirt to balance the whole look out. i'm not the type of gal who likes to show too much skin. could be tough on 80 degree days to not show skin. oh my life problems, lol. okay well enough laughing at myself, have a beautiful day and make sure to smile as much as possible!

here's a hatless, no nonsense post of my new hair! most people don't notice until they see it in the light, but it is RED. i got it done at van michael salon, for any of you miami gals who need a good place to go!

i wore this getup to work :) as i get older i am really falling for trouser pants. they are cute and slouchy with flats and easily dressed up with a pump, and i love the endless options! now that i have to dress for a different hair color i find myself drawn to deep purples and creme colors. any redhead color suggestions for me? :) i am off on monday and relaxin' because i have been working the weekends, but i hope you all have a good start to the week!

ice cream date ♥

i took the lovely tara from the forever 21 team to my favorite ice cream place during her visit! it is super close to my house and has the yummmiest flavors. i always get peanut butter flavor :) one of the upsides of miami is that you can always eat ice cream because it stays warm! 

i wore corduroy overalls for our adventure. i don't think overalls are ever "out" if they are worn right, and i loved this deep green pair! they can be worn with bare legs or with tights and boots in a colder climate! btw, here are more pictures of my new haircut/color. i will share my hair adventure next time!

welcome to lincoln road, forever 21! :)

this weekend i was offered the amazing opportunity to help Forever 21 open their store on Lincoln Road. It is a beautiful 3 story store with every piece of clothing you could ever dream of. it was amazing to have shareen, amanda and ria by my side for the opening, i love my blog friends and the constant support system we've created :) thank you to everyone who came out for the ribbon cutting ceremony, and if you live in miami make sure to stop by this beautiful store! your eyes will thank you!

cozy cabin sleepovers.

ever since i started to work full-time, i reaalllly reallllly love weekends, and try to take full advantage! there's no better way to spend a weekend than in a cabin. yup, the cabin that's been on the blog before :) i adore dressing casual and lounging around all day with the dogs running free. my friends LIVE here and wake up to this beautiful scenery every single morning. i really think being surrounded with natural beauty like this leads to a more positive and happy life. hopefully one day i'll be in the burbs' surrounded by this kind of scenery! 

i brought along my cozy floral shorts and favorite hat. i just found this hat at urban, and had to get it. i had one exactly like it but when my car was broken into last month they ONLY stole my vintage hat. ruuuude. the previous one was a bit more red, maybe one day i will re-thrift it. keep dreaming, right?!
