summer days driftin' away, to uh-oh those summer nights.

here is a highly romanticized version of "summer in florida." sometimes it IS this good. but most days it's too humid, too hot and you would rather be inside soaking in air conditioning. i guess you just have to be in the mood for sweltering weather, and dressed right. i was a typical florida gal on this day... i threw on easy breezy overalls, snatched up some perfect vintage and then met matt and his friends at the beach with some muffins. 

okay, so here is a little open discussion i've been stuck on for a bit--- two piece or one piece swimsuit? i invested in this little number up above because i think one piece bathing suits are ADORABLE and also classy. sometimes i feel like my body is too sacred to flaunt on a beach for total strangers. but i also feel a little bit granny in the one piece. what do you guys wear all summer?

hello from my new fringe and i! :) i had bangs in 2009 and decided to go back in time a little bit. it was fun revealing them to matt because he said it took him back to when we were first dating! gotta tell you though, waking up with crazy hair is NOT a fun thing, so they may be short lived. it looks like i stuck my hand in an electric socket every morning.

i wore this saturday afternoon ... we snuck out in between the neverending rain storms to take these! i usually despise tight shorts but for some reason these don't make me feel uncomfortable. plus they're the prettiest floral pattern i've seen ♥ this week is going to be very stressful over here between finals and moving, but i will keep you updated! thank you for reading, your comments always make me smile.

lazy dayzzz. navy, red, beige & jean is one of my favorite color combinations. throw some stripes from 2020AVE and some polka dots into the mix and YOWZA!

it has been non-stop raining here and all i want to do is cozy up in bed. sometimes rainy weeks are relaxing. this weekend we're painting and packing [fun, right?] matt has monday off and i am giving myself off so we can take a mini vacation on saturday & sunday night after we paint! i love early mornings with a coffee in-hand when it is just me, matt and the wide open road. cheesy, but true! what are your favorite weekend things?

we haven't officially moved in yet [a few days!] but these were taken out front of our new place. so many fun new spots for outfit photos! i think the 'vibe' of my blog is going to change because where we live now is so residential and we're moving to such a fun and urban spot! i am going to make sure to take the camera with me more and snap neighborhood photos because new places inspire me! a few blocks from us the walls are filled with beautiful graffiti and the streets are speckled with warehouse galleries with incredible work.

in other news, i am officially a separates addict. don't you guys feel so BORED dressing for summer? i think simplicity just irks me. i always want to add more, layer more, cover up more but the 90 degree weather we've been having allows for a minimal amount of clothing. it's all legs and arms for this lady and i was still really hot! fall... come soon?! :) jk, i am trying to embrace it PLUS we are going to have central ac in our new place which to me is a luxury. in nicaragua we had no ac, so i guess anything is better than that!

another fun day of life! the heat is here to stay, but i am happy that it has been overcast.. more incentive to play outside!

something about the summer months changes all my routines. instead of drinking coffee i've been drinking lemonade and la croix. do you guys drink that? i love how it fizzes in my mouth so i always take a really long time to finish the can. also, i haven't been craving carbs! ugh, i hate it... it's making me so sleepy not eating them. life complications. HA! this past weekend i spent a lot of time helping matt on this 48 hour film challenge he did. the genre of our film was "hitman" and i actually came up with an idea. by hour 3 i was kind of bored though..

i wore this around the gables grabbing lunch and sending out orders. i secretly kept this blouse for a long time and i'm really attached to it... but attachment to material things would in the long run make me some kind of crazy hoarder so i will reluctantly send it off to its next owner! :)
